The national messenger Max now supports two-factor authentication (2FA), the application's press service reported. The new feature enhances account security and reduces the risk of fraud.
To activate 2FA, you need to update the application, go to the "Privacy" section in your profile, and add a password as a second method of protection. It must include numbers and at least one letter.
The user can leave a hint and specify an email address to recover the password. For new registrations or authorization on a new device, two-factor authentication will be offered automatically. Later, it can be disabled in the privacy settings.
Max was launched in beta in March 2025. The platform allows you to communicate in the messenger, make calls, send voice messages, and files up to 4 GB in size. The application is available in the App Store, RuStore, and Google Play. It will be developed by VK's subsidiary, Communication Platform.
