The heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser "Admiral Nakhimov" of Project 1144.2 has completed the first stage of factory trials and has been sent for repairs to the Sevmash enterprise (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation).
The Ministry of Defense noted that during the tests in the White Sea, the cruiser's crew and the commissioning team specialists checked the operation of the main power plant, ship systems and mechanisms.
It is planned that the tests will then be continued for several months in the Barents Sea.
"First Technical" already wrote about the "Nakhimov" leavinga state of long-term repair. The modernization primarily concernedstrike weapons. Obsolete Granit missile systems will be replaced with universal launch systems for Zircon, Kalibr, or Onyx missiles.
In January of this year, nuclear reactors were launched on the cruiser. Tests will continue according to schedule.
