The head of the Main Armored Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Alexander Shestakov, said that the development of a heavy IFV "Kurganets-25" on the "Armata" tank platform continues, featuring a new revolutionary layout where crews are located in protected capsules. At the same time, the weapons module will be uninhabited.
The heavy IFV on this platform also has high protection. It has a front engine-transmission compartment and a rear ramp.
According to Shestakov, this solution will increase the survivability of the vehicle on the battlefield and provide better protection for the crew from various threats, including enemy anti-tank weapons. The new layout will also optimize the internal space of the IFV and accommodate more useful equipment, such as communication, navigation and control systems.
A floating armored personnel carrier and an armored recovery vehicle will also appear on the basis of "Kurganets-25". And their combat modules are remotely controlled.
Earlier www1 reported that the BRK "Bal" hit enemy ships with the "Uran" missile.
