Russian Strategic Aviation: Tu-95MS and Tu-160 Awaiting Modernization, Tu-22M3 Keeping Up

Special attention is paid to the introduction of an air-launched version of the Zircon hypersonic cruise missile, which is currently under development

According to Military Watch Magazine, Russian long-range bombers Tu-22M3, Tu-95, and Tu-160 are expected to undergo further modernization. Special attention is paid to the introduction of an air-launched version of the Zircon hypersonic cruise missile, which is currently under development.

The implementation of this project will significantly increase the combat potential of Russian long-range aviation, providing it with the ability to engage targets at a considerable distance with high accuracy and speed. Hypersonic missiles, flying at speeds several times greater than the speed of sound, are virtually invulnerable to modern air defense systems, making them an ideal weapon for breaking through enemy defenses.

Equipping aircraft with hypersonic weapons will significantly expand the range of tasks they can perform and strengthen Russia's position in the global balance of power.

Earlier, www1 reported that delays in the development of the next-generation aircraft PAK DA have increased the likelihood of additional re-preservation of Tu-22M3 strategists.
