Modernization of production lines at the Taganrog Aviation Scientific-Technical Complex named after G. M. Beriev (PJSC "TANTK named after G. M. Beriev", part of UAC) will increase the serial production of Be-200 amphibious aircraft, said acting Governor of the Rostov Region Yuri Slyusar.
Earlier, he noted that the aircraft plant is preparing to start a program of testing the Be-200 amphibious aircraft with new PD-8 engines, which are also actively being tested on the SJ-100 "Superjet".
Special thanks to the state program, resources for updating the machine tool fleet, for the purchase of additional technological equipment. They are provided, and this, of course, will be a new technological page for the plant. I really hope that we can implement this in a short time. And this will also have a positive impact on the serial production of Be-200 aircraft.
Slyusar clarified that at present the aircraft plant can produce only two machines, and a serious technological breakthrough will help to increase volumes.
The aircraft is equipped with two turbojet engines with a thrust of 7.5 tons each. The maximum take-off weight in the fire-fighting version reaches 37.9 tons. The Be-200 is capable of carrying 72 passengers or up to 7.5 tons of cargo. The maximum water supply in fire extinguishing is 12 tons.
