Russians started spending less money on electric scooter rentals

The average price of a short trip is 101 rubles

A new trend has been recorded in the field of kicksharing rentals. Russians have begun to spend less money on electric scooter rentals. According to T-Pay, Russians' spending on kicksharing services in the first half of this year decreased by 5% compared to the same period last year. This is the first time in the last five years that there has been a negative trend in this area.

Despite the decrease in spending, the number of trips on electric scooters increased by 17%. Russians are increasingly choosing electric scooters for short trips, which helps to relieve traffic congestion and reduce dependence on taxis and personal transport. The average cost of a trip on an electric scooter this year was 101 rubles. It is predicted that by the end of the year it may decrease to 95 rubles.

Senator Olga Epifanova, a member of the Committee of the Federation Council on Agrarian and Food Policy and Environmental Management, noted that changes in user behavior are due to the fact that electric scooters are now more often used for quick trips on business, and not for long walks. This also explains the increase in the number of trips with a simultaneous decrease in the average rental price. New tariffs, subscriptions and minute packages make using electric scooters more profitable.

Epifanova is confident that this trend will continue. Electric scooters are becoming increasingly popular as a convenient way to get to work, study or public transport. New safety rules and speed limits, according to the parliamentarian, make trips more comfortable and safer for users.
