New rules will come into force in Moscow in the new season of electric scooter and bicycle rentals. From 2025, only users who have been verified in the rental application through an account on the mos.ru portal will be able to rent a scooter or bicycle. This innovation applies to all kicksharing operators in the capital.
With the help of authorization through mos.ru, it is planned to confirm the age of users for access to rent, as well as have enough data to work with violators of travel safety rules. Although, according to Whoosh, less than 1% of users violate traffic rules, dangerous driving can lead to extreme road situations and incidents.
For verification, users will need a full account on the mos.ru portal. The new rule will take effect from the opening of the rental season.
The first five trips on kicksharing services can be made by logging in in any way. However, from the sixth trip, authorization through mos.ru will become mandatory.
Registered kicksharing users will need to link their mos.ru account to their account in the application. New users will be offered this authorization method as a priority.
The innovation is aimed at improving safety on the roads and tightening control over the rules for the provision of individual mobility equipment in the city. Recall that an electric scooter can be rented from the age of 18. A fine of 100 thousand rubles is provided for violation of the rules.
