The Russian MC-21-310 aircraft is demonstrating good results in test flights in terms of economic performance, engine thrust and fuel consumption. In the near future, the aircraft will begin to be supplied to domestic airlines, said Dmitry Yadrov, head of Rosaviatsiya.
According to him, the plane makes a huge number of flights, as well as bench and ground tests.
A large certification program is also actively underway. At the same time, the MC-21 itself has already received a type certificate, but the task of import substitution has led to the need to issue approvals for major changes to almost every component.
In total, the aircraft will have to make about 290 flights in order to be confident in its safe operation. Every aircraft has "childhood diseases", both imported and Russian.
Everyone sees examples of Boeing, which faced a shutdown even at some point in time in the production of cars. At one time, Dreamliners stood, as well as 737 MAX. But our task, of course, is to learn from the mistakes that were made, including by American manufacturers.
MC-21 is a domestic project of a medium-range passenger aircraft, which should replace the Tu-154 and the Tu-204 family in the Russian market. It will also become an alternative to foreign-made aircraft.
