Manufacturers from China do not provide the necessary service information

The Regional Association of Vehicle Maintenance Stations (RASTO) and the Russian Association of Auto Dealers have sent a request to the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) demanding that Chinese manufacturers provide the necessary service information for repairing their cars.

The Chairman of RASTO, Olga Selezneva, said that the lack of such information creates serious problems that need to be resolved at the state level. She emphasized that the FAS can contact the Ministry of Industry and Trade or another department responsible for the supply of cars to Russia.

Selezneva added that car services operating under OKVED 45.20 and possessing the necessary equipment and qualified personnel should have access to all necessary service information to ensure the safe operation of Chinese cars. Currently, access to such information is limited, which leads to high repair prices.

According to her, service information comes to Russia "indirectly", as lobbying companies resell access to the servers where it is stored. As a result, out of the 62 brands of Chinese cars represented on the Russian market, only 10% have the necessary service information. The situation began to deteriorate in 2020 and reached a critical point in 2022.
