The Russian robotic platform "Courier" has been armed with a laser for demining. The complex has already passed field tests, noted the Telegram channel Dambiev.
According to the source, the "Courier" received a domestic "Ignis" installation, which allows to actually burn explosive objects without detonating them.
During the tests, a laser beam burned through mines of various types at a distance of 150 m. This allows to dispose of explosive objects without risk to personnel and damage to infrastructure.
Tactical and technical characteristics of the "Courier" drone:
- Dimensions - 1400x1200x580 mm
- Weight - 250 kg
- Speed - up to 35 km/h
- Operating time - from 12 to 72 hours
- Propulsion - tracked
- Electric motors - 6 kW
- Control range - from 3 to 10 km
The robot will be useful, for example, for demining explosive objects on the runway or mine barriers.
