The new Russian PD-26 aircraft turbojet engine will allow Russia to modernize military transport aviation, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He noted that thanks to the serial production of PD-26 engines, Russia will have the opportunity to build a new generation wide-body civil aircraft.
The implementation of the project for the serial production of PD-26 engines will allow us to modernize not only military transport aviation, but also open up prospects for the construction of a new generation wide-body civil aircraft.
The head of state added that cooperation is possible in the implementation of the project, and the partners of the Russian Federation are showing great interest in the project.
At the same time, Russia is also participating in international aviation projects. For example, First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov noted that the Russian Federation is ready to supply components for the wide-body aircraft being designed in China.
Earlier www1.ru reported that ODK has found a way to reduce the weight of the PD-8 aircraft engine for SJ-100 and Be-200 aircraft.
