Russia is extending a helping hand to China, offering to establish supplies of aircraft engines that will save the Chinese aircraft industry. This was stated by the editor-in-chief of the Avia.ru portal, aviation expert Roman Gusarov.
The Chinese publication Sohu reported that Russia, before President Vladimir Putin's visit to Beijing, made a welcome gift to the Chinese side in the form of an agreement to supply Russian aircraft engines.
The C919 aircraft is a liner of the same class as our MC-21. A domestic engine, the PD-14, has been created for the MC-21. The engine has been tested, certified, and our aircraft have been successfully flying on it for several years. If the United States and other Western countries, including France and Britain, make a consolidated decision to ban the supply of their units to China, then our PD-14 will be the only alternative in the world.
The industry specialist added that the actual implementation of the plans depends on the need to scale up production, since the PD-14 engine production program is synchronized with the production rate of MC-21-310 aircraft.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the millionth titanium ingot for the construction of the MC-21 and SJ-100 was smelted in Russia.
