The Yandex team has done important work before the start of the school year. In the services "Yandex Navigator" and "Yandex Maps" they updated information about 50 thousand dangerous sections around schools throughout Russia. This will help make traffic around schools safer for both drivers and schoolchildren.
Dangerous zones are considered to be roads near schools that have unregulated pedestrian crossings. When a car approaches one of these zones, "Navigator" or "Maps" will warn the driver with a voice prompt: "Be careful, there is a school nearby." In addition, the "Navigator" will remind you of the current speed limit.
In 2025, Yandex marked more than 50,000 such zones on maps throughout Russia. Most of these places are in Moscow and the Moscow region (9642), the Krasnodar Territory (3018), St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region (2268).
