During the exercises, the ships of the Northern Fleet practiced actions to ensure the safety of Russia's maritime economic activity in the Arctic. The maneuvers were carried out in the Kara Sea, the fleet's press service reported.
According to the scenario, the large anti-submarine ship (ASW) "Severomorsk" received information about a vessel heading towards Russian territorial waters. The "intruder" was the rescue tug "Pamir" (project 1452).
Since the ASW ship's crew did not receive a response to the demand to stop, a warning artillery fire was opened. In addition, marines and members of inspection teams were delivered to the board of "Pamir" under the cover of a Ka-27 helicopter.
