The Project 1155 ship was escorting the Alexander Otrakovsky large landing ship

A group of ships of the Northern Fleet, which included the large anti-submarine ship (ASW) Severomorsk (Project 1155), the large landing ship (LLS) Alexander Otrakovsky (Project 775), the rescue tug Pamir (Project 1452) and the tanker Sergei Osipov (Project 1559-B), practiced searching for submarines of a mock enemy in the Arctic. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The tasks in the northern region of the Barents Sea were carried out with the use of deck aviation - the Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopter.

The Ka-27 crew practiced tactical methods of searching for and tracking submarines. At a distance of about 60 km from the ship, the pilots carried out a set of measures for visual, radar, magnetometric and hydroacoustic search for submarines.

The ship was built at the Yantar plant according to Project 1155, developed by specialists from the Northern Design Bureau (part of the USC).
