From September 1, Samsung smartphones and tablets sold in Russia will begin to receive pre-installation of the national messenger Max. This was reported by TASS sources. According to them, Chinese manufacturers, including Xiaomi, Honor, Huawei, Tecno and Infinix, are also preparing for the initiative.
Manufacturers are considering two scenarios: downloading via update or installation when activating a device with a Russian SIM card.
Officially, companies have not yet confirmed their plans. One of the TASS sources emphasized that Chinese and South Korean brands "promise to try very hard to do everything".
Earlier, the Russian government determined that Max should be included in the mandatory list of pre-installed applications, replacing "VK Messenger", which has been there since 2023.
