Drone units have been created in the Russian radiation, chemical and biological defense (NBC protection) troops. UAVs conduct NBC reconnaissance, monitor the terrain, and install aerosol masking, an informed source in the Russian Ministry of Defense said.
Military expert Yuri Lyamin said that the use of drones is very effective. They allow you to take measurements of the radiation and chemical situation without putting people at risk.
I think that in the very near future, most of the tasks inherent in the NBC protection troops will be solved by robotic systems.
Lyamin emphasized that drones, by installing a special smoke screen from the air, can cover troops not only from visual detection, but also protect against thermal imagers.
