A new generation of coordinate measuring machines has been put into operation at the Mechanical Processing Center (MPC) of the Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ). The equipment meets the requirements necessary to fulfill the production tasks facing the enterprise.
Four coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) are also being prepared for introduction into production - equipment for measuring complex geometric shapes that are difficult to assess with other special tools. These can be any surfaces, holes, cylinders of different diameters.
Ravil Nizamov, design engineer of the technical support department of production, clarified that the machine consists of modules and a probe with a ruby ball at the end.
After fixing the part in the desired position, the machine itself determines the required measurement diameter, the ruby ball easily passes through the rib points and transmits the measurements to our computer in "Online" mode. The advantage of this probe is the ability to rotate at any degree: 0°, 45°, -45°, -180°, and so on. Thanks to this, we can measure any part.
Similar coordinate measuring machines are designed to replace a number of special tools for manual measurements - calipers, micrometers. This automation of the process adds speed and accuracy.
The equipment error is only 2-2.5 microns. Nizamov stated that the new CNC machines are very accurate, provided that a trained specialist works on them. With such equipment, Kazan aircraft will fly not only in the sky, but also in space.
The Kazan Aviation Plant is part of PJSC "Tupolev", responsible for the production of Tu-214 civil aircraft, Tu-160M strategic bombers and the modernization of Tu-22M3.
Earlierwww1.ru reported that the armament of the updated "Admiral Nakhimov" has become known.
