The new Russian MC-21 aircraft is much more comfortable and modern than its Western competitors Airbus and Boeing, said Sergey Chemezov, General Director of the Rostec State Corporation.
According to him, the aircraft has more spacious luggage racks, larger windows and wider aisles between the seats. In short, it is comfortable to fly on.
Also, the level of technical novelty of the MC-21 at the development stage is 70%, while that of the Boeing 787 is 40%, and that of the Airbus 320neo is 18%.
We use composite materials in load-bearing structures, in particular in the wing. Competitors are only thinking about such solutions in this class of machines.
The MC-21 is a new generation medium-range passenger aircraft. The first major customer will be Aeroflot, which plans to receive 108 aircraft by 2030. The airline intends to start operating the MC-21 in the fourth quarter of 2026.
