The Russian market is likely to be replenished with a new Belgee S50 sedan assembled in Belarus. The car is a facelifted version of the Chinese Geely Emgrand, which is well known to Russians. Evidence of the imminent appearance of the new product was the photos of a car carrier with Belgee S50, taken in the Moscow region. It is important to note that the Geely Emgrand, which is sold in Russia, is imported directly from China, and in Belarus its production is localized and renamed Belgee S50, becoming part of the Belgee brand model range.
Belarusian-Chinese Belgee cars are produced at the joint venture CJSC "BelGee", which is located in the Borisov district of the Minsk region, not far from the cities of Borisov and Zhodino. Its model range is represented by Geely Coolray (Belgee X50) and Geely Atlas (Belgee X70) crossovers, and a replenishment is expected soon - the Belgee S50 compact sedan. In fact, the Belgee S50 is a copy of the Geely Emgrand, differing only in nameplates. The main advantage is a potentially lower price in Russia compared to direct deliveries from China. Currently, in Russia, the Geely Emgrand is available with an automatic transmission and a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 122 hp and a torque of 152 Nm.
