AvtoVAZ to Revive the Legendary "Eight"? FORS 2026 Car Images Appear

AvtoVAZ is actively engaged in development and is establishing partnerships with Chinese companies specializing in passenger cars. This collaboration opens up prospects for the emergence of new cars in Russia, and it is possible that some of them will be presented under different brands. As an illustration of this trend, an independent developer presented the first render of the VAZ-2108 Fors 2026, believing that this hatchback could become a worthy addition to the Russian car fleet.

The policy of the Togliatti automobile plant plays an important role here. Despite the lack of official statements about negotiations with Chinese companies, AvtoVAZ has already launched the SKM line of commercial vehicles, which are essentially replicas of Chinese counterparts. Thus, the plant demonstrates a desire to expand its share in the Russian market, not excluding partnerships with foreign manufacturers.

Presumably, AvtoVAZ will continue to invest in new models, especially given the current sharp drop in sales and the expected stagnation of the market. Despite the small margin on each car sold, the company urgently needs new cars like the VAZ-2108 Fors 2026 concept to remain competitive. Since the development of new models, such as Iskra and Azimut, takes years, and independent expansion of the model range in the face of an aggressive offensive by Chinese automakers can be disastrous.
