Footage of the first detailed model of the fifth-generation Su-57 multirole fighter has appeared online. The aircraft is presented in the usual white and blue color scheme for the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS).
The Su-57 is designed to destroy any ground, air, and surface targets. The aircraft is equipped with the latest complex of onboard equipment, radio-absorbing coating (stealth technology), internal armament, and has a supersonic cruising speed.
The first fighter entered service in 2020, and by 2028 their number will be increased to 76 units.
The thrust-to-weight ratio of the aircraft with the AL-51F1 engine will be more than one — 1.15-1.2 with normal takeoff weight. Currently, the parameter is equal to 1.09 with normal takeoff weight and 0.97 with takeoff weight with full load.
However, the Su-57 also has its drawbacks – a combat load of only 4200 kg, the absence of an infrared detection system, which raises doubts about the aircraft's compliance with the fifth generation of fighters.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia will increase the production of 9M729 Novator strategic missiles with a range of up to 2500 km.
