New VK-800SP aircraft engine began testing on the UTS-800 aircraft before the LMS-901 Baikal

In total, the power plant will be presented in three different versions

A modification of the VK-800SP aircraft engine with a take-off power of 806 hp began testing on a flying laboratory in Novosibirsk in the summer of 2025. This modification will become the "heart" of the UTS-800 training aircraft, according to Technosphere Russia.

The authors noted that during the test program, the VK-800SP will be converted into the VK-800SM. The engine will undergo an overhaul" with the dismantling of "unnecessary" components and will receive other settings, and the power will increase to 877 hp. This modification will go to the LMS-901 Baikal light passenger aircraft.

In addition, a third version will be prepared for the twin-engine LMS-192 Osvey aircraft — the VK-800S1 with a power of 877 hp and a maximum continuous power mode with one inoperative engine — the power will increase to 900 hp. At the same time, each of the three options has its own version of the propeller.
