The aircraft carrier "Admiral Kuznetsov" has worsened its technical condition due to the lack of a fully equipped pier. The cruiser wasted the resource of its power plant at the roadstead, said military expert Vasily Kashin.
According to him, the cruiser was originally intended to be an element of ensuring the safety of nuclear submarines. It was not intended for operations off the coasts of other continents.
The fleet could not provide "Admiral Kuznetsov" with basing conditions in the North. The ship did not have a fully equipped pier and was forced to spend almost all its time at the roadstead, burning the resource of the power plant, which led to a deterioration in its technical condition.
The specialist concluded that Russia spent billions of rubles on an aircraft carrier that the military could not operate normally. According to him, there are still many such "white elephants" in the fleet.
