An integral part of aircraft engine compressors and turbines is the blade. At first glance, the part seems simple, but it is a masterpiece of engineering, explained the United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of Rostec).
For their production, specialists from UEC enterprises have mastered a whole range of complex technologies that only a few countries in the world possess. The efficiency of the entire engine depends on the quality of the blades.
The higher the quality of the blades, the more severe loads they can withstand during operation — which means that an engine with such blades will be more powerful.
At the same time, the force of the loads depends on where exactly the blades are installed. Compressor blades, which increase the air pressure in the engine, must effectively withstand tensile stresses from centrifugal and gas forces.
Turbine blades are also exposed to extremely high temperatures of gases coming from the combustion chamber, so they are made of unique heat-resistant alloys.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the MS-21 aircraft flew for the first time to test navigation systems as a regular aircraft.
