AI will not pass: the court reinstated a Muscovite who was fired because her functions were replaced by a neural network

An attempt to automate work turned into legal costs for the company

The Preobrazhensky Court of Moscow declared illegal the dismissal of an employee of the company "Alisa", whose duties were transferred to artificial intelligence.

The court partially satisfied the claim: the dismissal order was canceled, Rozhnova was reinstated as a category manager in the procurement department. In addition, the company is obliged to pay her compensation for forced absence, delay in salary and moral damage.

According to the case file, in 2024, the company introduced neural technologies that automated most of the functions of a category manager. Rozhnova was offered to switch to a shortened working day with a lower salary, but she refused. After that, her employment contract was terminated.

Alisa stated that the real reason for the dismissal was violations of labor discipline. The court did not accept these arguments and sided with the plaintiff.
