The first flight of a flying laboratory based on the Yak-40 aircraft with the VK-800 engine developed by the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) took place. The flight time was 934 seconds.
During the tests, engineers evaluated the characteristics of the VK-800 engine under various flight conditions. The relative flight altitude was up to 700 m, the true speed was up to 340 km/h.
The engine operated stably at all stages of taxiing, takeoff, flight, and landing, UZGA noted.
Following the first test flight, the VK-800 engine demonstrated stable operation, and all systems worked normally. Based on the results of the work, a conclusion will be prepared on conducting further tests.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the MS-21-310 aircraft will "lose weight" by hundreds of kilograms thanks to new materials.
