Major work is underway at the aircraft factory in Irkutsk. Here they are building a building for major repairs of aircraft equipment. Another one is being reconstructed - the galvanic production building.
These and other facilities were inspected during a visit to the plant by the General Director of the Rostec State Corporation, Sergei Chemezov, together with the State Duma deputy Alfiya Kogogina, they got acquainted with the projects of technical re-equipment of the plant
The head of Rostec personally visited the final assembly shop of aviation equipment, the assembly line of МС-21 airliners and the hangar for ground testing of finished aircraft, the United Aircraft Corporation noted.
Irkutsk Aviation Plant is a diversified enterprise that produces the most advanced aviation equipment, which is in demand in Russia and in the foreign market, and by developing the МС-21 program, IAZ is becoming the leader of Russian civil aircraft construction.
Earlier www1.ru reported that МС-21 and SJ-100 aircraft may be delivered to Saudi Arabia: competition with Boeing and Airbus.
