Another "Superjet" SJ-100 with PD-8 engines flew across Russia

The experimental "Superjet" SJ-100 with tail number 95157, equipped with domestic PD-8 engines, has completed a flight from Komsomolsk-on-Amur to Zhukovsky.

Here, the aircraft will join the certification tests under the import substitution program. The aircraft was named in honor of the first president of the company "Sukhoi Civil Aircraft" (SCA, currently a branch of the company "Yakovlev" - "Regional Aircraft") Viktor Subbotin.

The aircraft was piloted by a crew consisting of test pilots Leonid Chikunov, Dmitry Savonin, and lead flight test engineer – flight operator Alexander Krylov.

The route, with a total length of about 6,000 km with an intermediate landing at Novosibirsk airport, took about 8 hours.

Upon arrival at the airfield of the M.M. Gromov Flight Research Institute, the aircraft was relocated to the "Yakovlev" aviation technical complex, where it will begin the certification testing program. Specialists will perform flights on this aircraft to assess the characteristics of the cruise propulsion system.
