The Rostec State Corporation has shown footage of the PD-8 aircraft engine without a nacelle for the import-substituted Superjet SJ-100.
Created by the United Engine Corporation (UEC), it has already flown more than 3.5 thousand hours this year during certification tests.
Mass production of the power plant is scheduled to begin as early as 2025. Next year, the corporation is ready to make 30 engines of this type.
The PD-8 was developed in record time, just over 5 years, which is twice as fast as the world average, Rostec emphasized.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that UEC will sharply increase the production of aircraft engines.
