The large landing ship (BDK) "Oslyabya" of Project 775 of the Pacific Fleet (TOF) made a call at the fleet's base in Kamchatka. The BDK is calling at Kamchatka and making a navigational voyage with cadets of the Pacific Higher Naval School (TOVVMU) named after S. O. Makarov.
During naval practice, cadets reinforce their theoretical knowledge of navigation disciplines in practice, stand watch as doubles of duty officers, and strengthen ship management skills.
The voyage started in Vladivostok, and in a week the ship passed along the Primorsky coast and island zone to the Kamchatka Peninsula. The press service of the Pacific Fleet added that during the voyage the ship will cover more than three thousand nautical miles.
BDK Project 775 (according to NATO codification - Ropucha, "toad") - a series of second-rank ships of the near and distant sea zone, built in Poland for the USSR Navy.
The ships are designed for landing troops, transferring troops and armored vehicles. BDK Project 775 are equipped with two A-215 "Grad-M" MLRS with a caliber of 122 mm.
