The increased projected cost of MC-21 aircraft may ultimately lead to higher airline costs and affect final transportation prices. This assumption was made by aviation expert Oleg Panteleev.
According to him, the cost of owning aircraft is traditionally in the top 3 expense items for airlines due to bank loans and leasing payments.
It can be assumed that the increase in the projected cost of aircraft will lead to an increase in airline costs and will affect transportation prices.
Panteleev also noted that the costs of new Russian aircraft should be compared with the costs of the foreign aircraft fleet, including maintaining their airworthiness.
At some point, due to sanctions, it will become much more expensive to operate "foreign cars" than new domestic aircraft. Do not forget that a zero VAT rate has been established for Russian aviation equipment, which will help equalize the economy of carriers.
It became known earlier that the projected price of the MC-21 aircraft will be 7.606 billion rubles. Moreover, in the summer of 2023, the State Transport Leasing Company, without taking into account subsidies from the National Welfare Fund, estimated it at around 4.6 billion rubles.
