Новая зенитная лазерная ПВО «Посох» успешно прошла испытания

"Luchomet" burned the drone's engine from a distance of 500 m in 170 milliseconds

The laser "luchomet" of the "Sosna" project passed demonstration tests at a training ground in one of the Russian regions, it destroyed a static target at a distance of 500-700 m. This was reported by the developers of the weapon.

With the help of a directed laser beam, "Sosna" disabled the drone's engine. The complex's beam itself is invisible, the demonstration was carried out at a distance of 500 m. A large power is required for the laser to hit a large carbon drone.

If we are working on an unprotected FPV drone, then power is not the prevailing factor. The system works in aggregate: the characteristic of the laser beam itself, its diameter, how the fragment system works, how its internal energy is distributed.
