Attackers have begun to deceive people by creating fake websites to pay for travel on toll roads in Moscow, including the Moscow High-Speed Diameter. This was warned by the Department for Organizing the Fight against Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
Attackers create websites that are visually almost indistinguishable from official resources and are indexed in search engines. After entering bank card details and the payment amount, the funds will be debited, and the fare will still not be paid. The fraudsters then actively use the obtained card data for their own purposes.
Over the past month, more than ten sites similar to official ones have been blocked. Among them are msd-avtodor-tr and msdmoss. One of the drivers was conned by fraudsters for more than 22 thousand rubles.
The police urged Russians not to ignore browser warnings and use only official resources. This can be done in the "Parking of Russia" application, on the website msd.mos.ru, through "Gosuslugi" or in bank applications where your car data is available.
Earlier, fraudsters began using a new fraud scheme:"cryptocurrency trading training". First, they study the victim's financial situation and try to gain their trust.
