Autonomous launchers of the Yars mobile ground missile systems (PGRK) of the Barnaul missile formation have entered combat patrol routes as part of planned exercises, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Strategic missile troops are practicing tasks and scenarios, including maneuvering actions on combat patrol routes.
Yars crews are conducting marches of up to 100 km, carrying out measures to equip field positions, organizing combat security and camouflage.
The troops are also practicing countering sabotage and reconnaissance groups. Support units are removing special equipment from areas of simulated chemical contamination.
The complex was developed by the Moscow Institute of Thermal Technology under the leadership of Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yuri Solomonov. The RS-24 Yars is a modification of the Topol-M missile system. The system has a range of up to 10,000 km.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the LIS-A drone radar has been taught to recognize the type of target.
