Sales of new Lada Niva Legend have resumed in Germany, but the cars are officially registered as used. A batch with zero mileage appeared in a sales center in Munich for about 21 thousand euros (approximately 1.9 million rubles).
Russian SUVs enter Europe via a re-export scheme from Kazakhstan. According to the Kazakhstan Automobile Union, LADA sales in this country increased by 177% in the first five months of 2025, while AvtoVAZ models themselves are not in the top 10 sales, which indicates the purchase of cars for subsequent export to the EU. Formally, the cars are considered used, but in fact they look completely new, without any signs of use.
This practice — selling new cars as used — is known as the "Chinese scheme," which has been used by automakers from China for many years to circumvent export restrictions. The appearance of Lada Niva in Germany indicates that there is demand for these cars in Western markets.
