On Thursday, June 19, a successful launch of the Russian heavy rocket "Angara-A5" was carried out from the Plesetsk cosmodrome. A new military satellite 14F166A (Cosmos-2590) could have been put into orbit using the Briz-M upper stage.
According to data from open sources, the military satellite 14F166A was developed at the enterprise "ISS named after Academician M.F. Reshetnev" on the domestic telecommunications platform "Express-2000". The device is intended for deployment as part of a military group.
14F166A is part of the 14K248 complex. According to foreign authors, this is already the second 14F166A device, the first was probably launched in 2023. The satellites have a service life of at least 10 years.
The satellite moves in geostationary orbit, at an altitude of 36,000 km from Earth, using astronavigation and machine vision. The device probably has equipment on board for studying Western satellites.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the engine cowling of the Superjet-100 was torn off right in the air.
