Online shopping and investments are favorite areas for fraudsters to create phishing sites, the Department for Combating Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia warned.

The agency's reports indicate that there is seasonality in the field of online shopping. Fake sites offering lumber and ready-made gazebos were especially popular. Scammers also traded musical instruments, tobacco, auto parts and branded clothing. There was also the sale of non-existent iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Law enforcement officials reported that the maximum damage from investment fraud reached 11.4 million rubles. The attackers offered to "invest money in the stock exchange", while posing as employees of the Moscow Exchange.
Third place was taken by phishing sites with intimate services (16%).
Fourth place is occupied by fake services (13%). In this category, offers for renting housing were most often found, which is associated with seasonal vacations, as well as the sale of tickets to non-existent theatrical productions. Law enforcement officers singled out one of the schemes (3%) as particularly noteworthy. The scammers created a resource that posed as a platform for evaluating goods on well-known marketplaces, which was used in schemes in the field of employment.
Access to resources is limited, but scammers continue to create new ones.
Earlier it became known that in 2025, fraudulent calls in messengers became the main cyber threat for Russians. Successful attacks often occur due to leakage of personal data.
