Ярославский моторный завод выпустил собственное моторное масло SAE 5W-40 для дизелей ЯМЗ

The new product is designed specifically for YaMZ engines and is suitable for operation in harsh conditions

From June 4, 2025, the Yaroslavl Motor Plant (YaMZ) began producing its own motor oil under the YaMZ SAE 5W-40 brand, designed specifically for YaMZ diesel engines. The new oil was developed in conjunction with one of the leading manufacturers of motor oils.

The new YaMZ all-season oil has a viscosity of SAE 5W-40, which ensures easy engine starting in cold weather and reliable protection under high loads.

Compliance with API CI-4 makes the product relevant for modern turbocharged diesel engines operating under increased loads. The oil features low volatility, which reduces the frequency of top-ups and lowers maintenance costs.

The product can help extend engine life and maintains lubricating properties over a wide temperature range due to its high viscosity index. The oil will be available in 5-liter canisters.

Starting in August 2024, the Yaroslavl Motor Plant offers car owners a "first-hand" solution — a product originally designed taking into account all the technical requirements for YaMZ engines. Now owners of diesel vehicles based on these engines will be able to use oil that perfectly matches their equipment and is approved by the manufacturer itself.

The release of branded oil is a logical step for YaMZ, long practiced by other automakers. Although the product is designed for YaMZ diesels, according to its characteristics (API CI-4, SAE 5W-40), it is also compatible with other engines of this class. What matters is not so much the oil itself, but the ability to offer equipment owners and consumables directly "from the same source."
