YaMZ presented new engines — YaMZ-770 diesel and YaMZ-537 CNG gas engine

They are suitable for installation on transport, agricultural and railway equipment

At the ComVex 2024 international exhibition of commercial vehicles and technologies in Moscow, the Yaroslavl Motor Plant "Avtodizel" showcased its new engines.

The YaMZ-770 was previously described in detail by "Pervyi Tekhnicheskiy". This is an import-independent 6-cylinder diesel engine designed without a gearbox or clutch.

The YaMZ-770 is planned to have several modifications with power outputs from 360 to 620 hp and torques from 1700 to 2550 Nm. It is designed for agricultural producers, railway and heavy equipment manufacturers. The first production models are planned for release in 2025.

As for the YaMZ-537 CNG, this is a new 6-cylinder in-line gas engine of the fifth environmental class with a cylinder dimension of 110x135 mm, the working volume of which is 7.7 liters. It has forced spark ignition and an electronically controlled distributed gas injection system.

The YaMZ-537 CNG differs from the diesel version of the series, which began production this year — the YaMZ-537 — by a reduced compression ratio of 11. Its power range is from 210 to 300 hp, the maximum torque is from 830 to 1250 Nm. Compressed methane is used as fuel.

Also at ComVex 2024, the Yaroslavl plant presented a 12-cylinder V-shaped diesel engine YaMZ-855 with a capacity of 1054 hp. This heavy engine will be useful in the Russian gas production and railway industries, in shipbuilding and mechanical engineering.
