Magnetic storms raged on the planet for a record 66 hours. The series of geomagnetic disturbances was the longest since 2017, according to the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IKI RAS).
Geomagnetic indices have returned to the green zone. Based on the parameters of the solar wind in the vicinity of the Earth, the chances of the "graph bouncing off the bottom" are almost zero and in any case can only lead to a weak echo.
In April 2017, magnetic storms lasted 69 hours. The continuous series of geomagnetic storms and disturbances began on the morning of June 1 with the arrival of a mass ejection from a solar flare that occurred on May 31.
According to the Institute of Physics of the Earth (IPG), on June 3, the degree of disturbance of the Earth's magnetic field reached G1 on a five-point scale, where G5 means "extremely strong" and G1 means "weak".
Earlier www1.ru reported that the deadlines for completion of powerful magnetic storms on Earth have been announced.
