On May 28, 2025, a moderate magnetic storm (level Kp 6) occurred on Earth, caused by a series of solar flares recorded earlier. According to the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the IKI RAN, disturbances began in the morning hours (around 7-8 am).
The source of the storm was coronal mass ejections from class M and X flares, occurring between May 24 and 27. The flow of charged particles reached the Earth's magnetosphere, triggering fluctuations in the magnetic field.
