The first video of the Russian combat air defense laser in operation has appeared online. The complex operates as part of the "Nomad" special forces detachment.
During tests, the laser was able to burn through a metal plate at close range, and in combat conditions it shoots down drones at a distance of several kilometers.
The exact technical characteristics of the laser installation or its name are not disclosed. Visually, it is significantly different from the previously announced "Peresvet."
Thanks to the development of new technologies, laser systems have become an effective tool for destroying UAVs. It remains only to hope that the topic of laser weapons development in Russia will receive a new impetus, and the experience of using lasers as air defense systems will be scaled up to the whole country.
