Il-76 Production Ramping Up: Seven Aircraft in 2025, 12 Aircraft per Year by 2027, 18 in the Future

Ulyanovsk Aircraft Plant Accelerates Assembly Rate of New Generation Transporters

Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov stated that the production rate of Il-76 aircraft at the Ulyanovsk aircraft plant will reach seven aircraft per year in 2025. By 2027, production is planned to increase to 12 aircraft, and in the future, to 18.

The minister emphasized that serious work has been done at the enterprise over the past four years, which has made it possible to reach a stable assembly rhythm.

According to him, the key task now is to eliminate bottlenecks and modernize equipment, using both domestic solutions, including those produced in Ulyanovsk, and imported solutions from friendly countries. This will ensure further production growth.

Capacity expansion may be considered in three years, given the high export potential of the Il-76MD-90A, which, as Alikhanov noted, have no analogues and remain competitive in price.
