A ship strike group consisting of small missile ships (MRK) "Serpukhov" and "Naro-Fominsk" (Project 21631 "Buyan-M") performed electronic missile launches with "Caliber" missile systems at the Baltic Fleet training ground. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The targets simulated a detachment of enemy warships and critical coastal facilities. As a result of the electronic launches, all designated targets were hit.
The press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense added that the sailors also conducted exercises on anti-sabotage defense during a stop at an unprotected roadstead, interaction, and communication between ships.
MRK Project 21631 "Buyan-M" is a series of 3rd rank ships with guided missile weapons. The vessels are designed to protect the economic zone of Russia in inland marine basins.
