The crew of the rescue vessel "Igor Belousov" (Project 21300) of the Pacific Fleet rescued a conditionally distressed submarine that was on the ground. The exercises took place in the waters of Peter the Great Bay. This was reported by the press service of the fleet.
According to the scenario of the exercises, the submarine reported a technical malfunction and settled to the bottom (a submarine model was used).
"Igor Belousov", equipped with the latest sonar equipment, promptly identified the location of the submarine and began reconnaissance of the area using a remotely operated underwater vehicle.
The sailors lowered the rescue vehicle "AS-40" and examined the bottom at a depth of 60 meters, then docked with the submarine model and ventilated its compartments.
Experts also checked the communication and power supply systems of the submarine to assess the readiness of the rescue team to perform similar tasks in real conditions.
