Российские военные получат новый «Взгляд»: тепловизоры от Ростеха обеспечат видимость в боевых условиях без фар и стекла

The new thermal imager will allow drivers of armored vehicles to navigate in the dark, fog, and with impaired visibility

The "Shvabe" holding of the Rostec State Corporation has developed the "Vzglyad" system — a thermal imager for controlling equipment in conditions of limited visibility. The device allows detecting objects at long ranges and seeing the road situation at night without using headlights, as well as in fog or with the windshield closed by armor. The system has successfully passed tests in conditions close to combat, and will soon begin to be supplied to the troops.

Domestic components are used in the design. The complex consists of a thermal imaging camera, which is installed outside the vehicle, and a monitor with high-resolution optics in the cabin next to the driver, where a clear image is created in real time. This allows the driver to confidently navigate in difficult weather conditions and in case of damage or contamination of the windshield.

The "Vzglyad" system is especially effective for vehicles with armored cabins and additional protection, which have limited visibility. It also perfectly detects people and equipment at a considerable distance, which significantly increases the safety and efficiency of equipment operation.

The reliability and operability of the complex have been confirmed during testing. One of the key advantages of the system is the absence of glare on the screen from external and internal light sources. "Vzglyad" is easily installed on any vehicle, and will soon begin to be supplied to the troops.

The thermal imaging system was developed at the Vologda Optical and Mechanical Plant (part of the "Shvabe" holding). It has improved image quality and increased detection range: the device detects enemy equipment at a distance of up to 500 meters, and a person — up to 300 meters. The developers report that the matrix of the "Vzglyad" thermal imager has a resolution of 640x512 pixels.
