The company "Ural Locomotives", part of the holding "Sinara - Transport Machines", has completed the process of changing jurisdiction, completely transferring to Russian management.
Since 2010, the company has been jointly owned by the German concern Siemens through the offshore structure Ural Locomotives Holding B.V. In April 2025, Siemens Mobility sold its 49% stake for 2.16 billion rubles to Otavit Joint-Stock Company, registered in Moscow in the summer of 2024. The deal was approved by the government commission for control over foreign investments.
After Siemens' departure, the company focused on localizing production. In 2023, "Ural Locomotives" presented the electric train "Lastochka" of the ES104 series, completely assembled from domestic components. In 2024, the company signed a contract with Russian Railways for the supply of two head samples of high-speed rolling stock for the Moscow - St. Petersburg highway, worth 12 billion rubles.
