According to him, the company won the tender for the supply of these small arms. After the completion of all the necessary procedures, the Kerala State Police will become the second law enforcement agency in India to purchase nationally produced AK-203 assault rifles.

The AK-203 is a modern modification of the Kalashnikov AK-200 series assault rifle, adapted for the 7.62×39 mm cartridge. The weapon combines the traditional simplicity and reliability of the AK with modern technological solutions.

Key features of the AK-203 include a folding telescopic stock, improved ergonomics, a new pistol grip, an improved selector lever/safety, a slotted flash suppressor, and a forend with Picatinny rails, allowing the installation of sighting systems and additional modern equipment without compromising the reliability of the automatic system.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Kalashnikov first presented the latest shortened AK-12K and AK-12SK assault rifles.
