The United Aircraft Corporation (part of Rostec) participated for the first time in the International Helicopter Industry and Unmanned Aircraft Systems Exhibition in Moscow, where it presented a fundamentally new unmanned transport system for off-airfield basing with the S-76 vertical takeoff and landing aircraft.
A full-fledged flight model was demonstrated at the exhibition, which has already passed the first stage of flight experiments to test vertical takeoff, hovering and landing modes.
The unmanned vertical takeoff and landing aircraft was developed at the Sukhoi Design Bureau of UAC. The unmanned system is focused on government and private structures in the transport services market.
The S-76 will be able to perform logistics, research and other tasks of any complexity in various regions of Russia, including the most remote places.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Rostec showed a detailed video of the Superjet flight with PD-8 at an extreme speed.
